# Why does my data say preview, and why do some companies show everything?

> How previews work on the free plan, and which companies return full data.

On the free plan, some endpoints return a shorter version of the data, called a preview. A preview might show the top 5 rows, or a limited set of fields. Pro returns the full data for the same call.

You can tell a preview from the response: it carries `isPreview: true` and `previewReason: "PRO_REQUIRED"`, and the shortened payload sits in `data`. The connector also limits how much data you get by plan, but its tool responses may look different.

## Companies that return full data on a free key

A small set of sample companies return the full response to a free key, so you can build and test against complete, real data before you upgrade. The list is in [Full sample responses with a free key](/docs/api/#full-sample-responses-with-a-free-key). These responses carry `sampleCompany: true`.

Calls for sample companies count toward your monthly allowance and per-minute limit like any other call. Two things do not change: discovery calls that never count toward quota still do not, and a sample company's options summary does not use up the free plan's monthly allowance of full options summaries. Sentiment, the SentiSense Score and market-wide endpoints work the same for every company.
