Introducing the SentiSense MCP Connector: Market Intelligence Inside Claude and ChatGPT

Two months ago we launched the SentiSense API: one clean surface for the market data and analysis we use to power our own product. Builders wired it into dashboards, research agents, and internal tools.

Today we are opening a third door into the same data graph. If you use Claude or ChatGPT, you can now pull SentiSense data straight into your chat, with one URL and no code.

We have said this from the start: SentiSense is one data graph, not a pile of features. Until now there were two doors into it: the full app for traders who do not write code, and the API, with SDKs and an agent skill, for builders. The connector adds a third. The newest agents that people already run, Claude and ChatGPT, can now pull the same data with one URL. Use the app. Build on the API. Or just ask your AI.

This post covers what the connector is, how to connect it in about a minute, the five tools it exposes, what is free versus PRO, and the honest caveats.

What the MCP connector is

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets AI apps like Claude and ChatGPT connect to outside data sources. The SentiSense connector is our MCP endpoint. Once you add it, your AI can call SentiSense for market mood, stock sentiment, news, analyst ratings, and institutional flows, and fold the answer into whatever you were already working on.

To be clear about what this is and is not: this is not a chatbot we built, and it is not a new app to log into. It is our data, read-only, made available inside the AI app you already use. You ask your assistant a question, and when the answer needs market data, it reaches into SentiSense and pulls it. The connector is five read-only data tools, plus a health check, and nothing more. No trading, no account changes, no writes.

How to connect it (about a minute)

There is nothing to install and nothing to copy from a settings page. No API key, no client id.

Open Claude or ChatGPT and add a new connector.
Paste the URL: https://app.sentisense.ai/mcp
Sign in with your SentiSense account and approve access.
That is it. The connection is remembered, so you only do this once.

Behind the scenes this uses OAuth, the same approve-access flow you have seen when you connect an app to your Google or GitHub account. You are signing in to SentiSense and granting your AI read-only access at your account's tier. Both Claude and ChatGPT are verified and working today.

One note for ChatGPT: adding a connector by its URL currently requires turning on developer mode in ChatGPT's settings first, and ChatGPT has since renamed that settings area to Plugins. Claude supports adding it directly. The connector docs carry the current steps.

The five tools

The connector exposes five read-only tools. You do not call them by name, you just ask, and your AI picks the right one. Here is what each one answers.

Market Mood

Our proprietary 0 to 100 fear-to-greed composite for the US market. Ask "what is the market mood today?" and your AI reads the current score and where it sits on the fear-to-greed scale.

Stock Snapshot

The price plus the SentiSense sentiment and score and the key stats for a single ticker. Ask "how does NVDA look right now?" and you get the quote alongside our sentiment read, in one answer.

Market-moving News

Recent, sentiment-tagged market-moving news for a ticker, each with a link back to the source. Ask "what is moving AAPL this week?" and your AI surfaces the items with our sentiment tag on each, so you can click through to read the original.

Analyst Ratings

The Wall Street buy, hold, and sell consensus and price targets for a ticker. Ask "what do analysts think of TSLA?" and you get the rating distribution and the target range.

Smart Money

Institutional 13F holdings and flows: who is buying and who is selling. Ask "who owns the most MSFT?" or "what did Berkshire add last quarter?" and your AI reads the institutional book.

Update, July 2026: three more tools

Since this post went out, the connector has grown from five tools to eight, all still read-only. The additions:

Options Intelligence. Options-implied sentiment, IV rank, put/call percentile, and max pain for a ticker, each ranked against the stock's own history, plus a radar of the most active options today. Ask "what's the options sentiment on NVDA, and is IV high right now?"
Earnings Calendar. Pass a ticker for its next report: the date, whether it lands before or after the market, confirmed or estimated, the fiscal quarter, and the consensus EPS. Or leave the ticker out for the week's schedule grouped by day. Ask "who reports earnings this week, and when does NVDA report?" Free sees the current week; PRO adds the forward window.
Stock and ETF Screener. Rank the tracked stock and ETF universe by the SentiSense Score, mention share, social dominance, or market data like price, market cap, and volume, then filter with a compact list such as "score_7d > 10, market_cap < 10B". Ask with no filters for today's sentiment leaders and biggest movers, or "screen for stocks under $10B market cap with rising sentiment." Free returns up to 10 ranked rows; PRO up to 50.

What is free, what is PRO

The connector respects the SentiSense tier of the account you sign in with.

Free: preview data with limits. Enough to try every tool, get a feel for the coverage, and answer everyday questions.
PRO: full data and higher limits. The complete picture, for people who lean on this daily.

You start on whatever tier your account is already on. If you outgrow the free preview, upgrading to PRO unlocks the full payload through the same connection, with no reconnecting required.

Honest caveats

A few things worth being straight about:

Quotes are real-time. Sentiment, news, and mood are batch. Prices update live, but our sentiment reads, the news annotations, and the Market Mood score are recomputed on a schedule, not tick by tick. If you need this second's number, ask for the quote.
We cover the most-watched US stocks, not every ticker. Coverage is deep on the names people actually follow. For an obscure micro-cap, your AI may come back empty. That is expected, not a bug.
